In order to coach in our league, all new assistant & head coaches are required to take the Play Like A
Champion Today (Coaching as Ministry) Training (PLC). This also pertains to any assistant & head coach
who hasn’t previously taken the training. Please use the link below to register for a training session.

PLC Online Recertification Course |
Attention: All assistant & head coaches who attended the PLC Sports as Ministry workshop in 2008-2009 school years must be recertified every two years in order to be eligible to continue coaching in the PLKC. Coaches will have three options available to become recertified coaches: 1) Online; or 2) by taking one of two PLC advanced workshops which are offered in person.
The advanced PLC workshops are also available to all coaches who wish additional training opportunities as well. Workshop course descriptions are listed below.
The online recertification course will take approximately two (2) to two in a half (2 ½) hours to complete. The fee is $25.00 & must be paid at the time on the registration. A course description is listed below.
The advanced in person workshops will take approximately one (1) hour to complete. The fee is $20.00 & must be paid at the time of the registration. Workshop course descriptions are listed below.
PLC Online Recertification Course
Attention: This course is a review of the original workshop as well as an advanced training opportunity in new coaching strategies that focus on physical, moral, and spiritual development of young athletes. It is offered in partnership with the Satellite Theological Education Program (STEP). STEP is an outreach program at the University of Note Dame that offers quality theological education to pastoral ministers and adults Catholics through online courses. FYI the fee is $25.00 & must be paid at the time on the registration.

Effective Coaching Techniques
Attention: This course is a review of the original workshop as well as an advanced training opportunity
in new coaching strategies that focus on physical, moral, and spiritual development of young athletes.
This workshop allows for more coach interaction & scenario situations that you might occur will coaching.

Parents AS Partners
Attention: This workshop outlines a way for you as a coach to create effective partnership with parents.
The ability to identify and manage constructive vs destructive means of communication. As well as the
understanding on how to effectively resolve conflict with parents. FYI the fee is $20.00 & must be

Sports, Spirituality and Ministry
Attention: This workshop reminds coaches that coaching is a special ministry in our church. Coaches are guided in understanding how they can fulfill a league mission statement through their ministry of coaching and thus build Disciples of Christ on their teams. Sports test and feed the human spirit. Spirituality is an experiencing of God that transforms our consciousness and our lives. The clinic helps coaches to connect the experience of spirituality within sport for their athletes. FYI the fee is $20.00 & must be paid at the time on the registration.
